Portrait of Dr. Kelvin Thompson

Dr. Kelvin Thompson
Research Coordinator

Kelvin oversees P-ADL's day-to-day operations, including the cultivation of potential partnerships and funding opportunities. In addition to serving as P-ADL's research coordinator, Kelvin is an assistant director for CDWS and has assisted with the design of hundreds of online courses. His personal research interests include qualitative evaluation of instructional environments, and his Online Course Criticism Model is available online. Kelvin holds an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction and an MA in instructional systems technology from the University of Central Florida and a BME from Florida State University.

Ms. Randi Powell
Administrative Support

Tasked with coordinating an array of daily administrative details, Randi brings a sense of personal empowerment and responsibility to her role; combined with a high level of competence from her past experiences in various administrative settings. Randi holds a BA in psychology and an MA in counselor education both from the University of Central Florida.


 

Additional Staff Resources

The staff of CDL, CDWS, and RITE are called upon to support the mission of P-ADL. In particular, two CDWS production teams are associated closely with P-ADL and are based in the P-ADL facilities: the New Media Team and the Video Convergence Team.

Dr. Francisca Yonekura
New Media Team Lead

Francisca leads the New Media Team in the development of instructional technology innovations. She has been involved in various instructional and promotional projects developed for different media types including Web, CD-ROM, CD-I, and print in higher education, the hospitality industry and the military. She has facilitated and collaborated in the design and development of online courses with many UCF faculty. Her research interests are concentrated in the areas of design, development and evaluation of network-based learning incorporating games and simulation principles and techniques. She received her master's degree in instructional systems technology and her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Central Florida.

Ms. Emely Jimenez
Video Convergence Team Lead

In leading the Video Convergence Team, Emely seeks to bring visual elements from television, film and entertainment to the educational arena in order to cultivate and enhance learning. Emely holds a BA in communication (radio and television) from the University of Central Florida.
