About Us

Distributed Learning

While predominantly focused on online instruction, "distributed learning" refers to an instructional context in which the needs of learners are emphasized and at least two of the following components are connected through a networked infrastructure: learner(s), instruct or(s), content, and support resources. Examples of distributed learning include but are not limited to: instructor-led online courses based heavily on asynchronous forms of communication, content-centric online courses focused on individual learners, multi-player PC or video game environments used for instruction, multiple instructional sites connected via video, audio, or text communications, etc.
